  • Instant Activities for Instant Fun

    Students are really excited to use the yoga balls. this year we are going to use the yoga balls to shed some energy and fat at the same time. Drumming Fitness will help motivate students with their top songs and have the them "Drum it out" in a fun cardiovascular activity!

    Students at first were confused and did not know what they were going to be used for. to some extent I am still holding it a surprise as not all students know. some think it will be some boring fitness thing. I cannot wait until I see their reaction when drumming fitness begins for them this year!

    I am looking into investing into the students lives by having them be the DJ of the day during drumming fitness. This way they feel empowered with the jobs. It will also allow us to hear different music from different genres and potentially fall in love with new music. This will help expand students horizons in their current music culture.”

  • Technology in PE for Student Success

    You have helped make a change in these students lives. We all see and use technology but very rarely is it used in Physical Education. Using the Pedometers gives students the ability to track and monitor their current activity level. It gets students excited to know the data for 40 minutes that they spend with me.

    The new product excites students because they have options. If they choose not to do a certain activity they can still get points by "stepping up " to the challenge. Some students are competitive and want to meet a goal for one class period and try to break that in a different class period the following day.

    Students who are having a difficult day or do not seem motivated by the current unit can find themselves occupied by just walking. The key here is giving students another option for PE. I have had a lot of students become excited over the idea of having two activities to do at all times.”

By joining the 100 Mile club students need to convert every type of physical activity into miles. With our conversion chart we would like to have something track their activity time and steps. Students will be using the pedometers to track their activity time in PE classes. they will use that data to convert it to miles. By tracking their activity time they are learning responsibility while working toward their 100 mile goals! I would like your help to have the tools to help students track their progress and visualize their current success. By providing the tools you are helping students develop a physically active life and battling obesity.

About my class
