I currently work at a public school in New York in a 4th grade integrated co-teaching classroom. These fourth graders are challenged, not only, to adapt to a new country, but to learn a new language. Many of them return home to houses in which the parents talk in their native language. For some of them, the only place they have the opportunity to learn English is in the classroom.
