During reading intervention (small group) students spend half of their time on the computer using Istation. Which is why it is so important for my students to have headphones in order to do their lessons with no noise distractions. Our classroom also needs disinfecting wipes and Lysol spray to stay as germ free as possible. Kleenex tissues always come handy when our little ones are sick. My students also need pencils; pencils play an important social role in the classroom. My students having individual headphones will definitely impact their performance using Istation on the computer. They won't have any noise that would distract them while doing their online lessons, tests, and other activities. I station teaching method, which bases itself on lots of verbal explanations, is slow, detailed, and very explicit. Which is what makes Istation a solid choice for self-paced learning; students get a lot of instruction and should be fine going through the program on their own. Students who struggle with some of the concepts can also benefit from this kind of approach. Students have the opportunity to freely explore learning games and activities where they have more autonomy and more interaction.
