  • iPad cases for Students in Laurelton Queens, NY

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you so very much for providing our Queens, NY students the tools they require to be successful in our hybrid digital world. These cases help to keep the equipment safe as we teach our students to use the technology for good and staying aware. Your kindness is truly appreciated!”

  • K-2 Coding Conundrum

    Funded Nov 18, 2017

I am overwhelmed with gratitude as I construct this note of thanks. Within this season of giving, how lovely of you to consider our students! This is our inaugural year for PreK-5 Computer Science; we were cautiously optimistic as we prepared to enter into online Block Coding with well-seasoned devices. Our youngsters have taken to their new virtual and robotic worlds with excitement and persistence. They follow the algorithm logic and speak beautifully to the CS language. Not only can they operate the devices, they utilize the programs and robots like pros.

The items we originally requested were unavailable; things always seem to happen for a reason. The four Fire Tablets are kid friendly and the children quickly adapted to the alternate operating system. The solid cases bring peace of mind as anxious little friends navigate through their CS lessons and equipment responsibilities. As you can imagine, the bright, new blue tablets are the first to be selected for online time.

Once again thank you so very much for your generosity. You have added to the Computer Science education of Pre-K-2 (180) students !”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher Mattson-Grosso

Computer Science has now entered the K-2 Early Elementary Division of our Pre-K-8 Public School. With limited resources, we have been making due with "homemade" tools for teaching and learning Algorithms. The students are beginning to understand the logic and are eager to expand understanding through new tools such as a newer generation iPad to run a Dash Robot and "Kid Power" to "Steam" a STEM Robot Mouse. Our challenges include limited funding, therefore, we are making a go of Elementary CS with a set of iPads which were originally slated for disposal. Function and power are limited with these units; the kids, however, are happy to share these seasoned units as we promote the understanding and team unity within our school community.
