During my lessons, I want to be mobile around the room while still engaging all my students. Being able to sit with the students while they are trying to figure out problems will helps them and allows me to give them individual help. Having an iPad that is connected to my computer screen so students can participate and share their solutions will increase my participation. Students will also have the opportunity to use the iPad to share their answers and participate with the entire class. At least once a week I have a lesson, where the students will work with their teams on a set of problems. The groups will work together as a team to finish each problem set and as they finish they check in with me to move onto the next problems. While they are working in teams I am constantly moving around (away from my computer) and checking in and helping different teams that need more instruction. Using the iPad I can update the computer without leaving the students that are needing help. I will also use the iPad during the class lessons where individuals will be able to share their own answers on the iPad that will then transfer to the class screen for the whole class to see.
Having more technology in my classroom will allow more students to get involved and be willing to take the risk of trying. I truly believe the hardest thing for students in math is for to just try, once they try I can help them individually to have a better understanding. I also have a lot of students with anxiety over mathematics having an iPad during the math lesson using the e-book with manipulatives allows the students to always be able to participate.
