Currently in my classroom we have flexible seating. I have floor seating, couch seating, a rocking chair and well as more standard seating. I have a few areas that contain chairs and tables. However, I have a few students who prefer to stand especially when we are taking notes. Providing students with an area to stand and take notes or do other work would be made easier by adding a standing workstation in my classroom. Students can focus on their work, but still feed their need of comfort in our classroom! Students are with me for several hours each day and need to be comfortable. As adults, we know if we aren't comfortable then our attention span isn't long.
