One of my main goals, as the Library Media Specialist, is educating students to become conscientious information consumers and researchers. To provide more opportunity for students to use our extensive electronic database collection, card catalog, and ebooks, I have set-up three “quick search” stations along one of my bookshelves. Despite having three built-in workstations in the library, students gravitate to the “quick search” stations and they remain occupied most of the day. We do not, however, have stools to accommodate students with comfortable seating. Right now the students are sitting on a borrowed conductor’s stool and a borrowed metal stool; I do not have a stool for the third station, so one student must always to stand to work. I am requesting four café stools that can be used at the workstations. A fourth “quick search” station will be added should we be lucky enough to receive all four stools. The stools I am requesting are both functional and durable. They are the perfect height for the “quick search” stations, have cushioned seating and back support, and can be easily cleaned. Should we be fortunate to receive the stools, they will be appreciated and used for years to come as our students travel along their educational journey.
