Our school is in a low socioeconomic area, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. In addition, many of our families share a home with 2-3 families and have limited access to many resources. Our students come to school for more than an education, as we strive to provide them with the tools for success in their future endeavors. Despite the many obstacles they face, they enjoy coming to school and are eager, enthusiastic learners. I try to make my classroom a positive and engaging learning environment for each of my kids. However due to budget cuts, it is sometimes difficult to provide all the necessary materials to effectively and explicitly deliver instruction.
