We Love to Practice Letters in Pre-K!
Funded Apr 5, 2018Thank you so much for your donation. We were so happy to get our new materials to practice recognizing and writing letters! The scholars opened the boxes with me as soon as they were delivered to our school. They were so excited to use them right away.
My scholars especially enjoy the mini magic writing boards. They also love building letters. I have noticed them comparing as they are building saying, "This letter has curves too." It was so fun to see them excited and engaged. Thank you again for your generous donations.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation. My scholars loved opening our box of LEGOS together! They really enjoy having boxes delivered to our school-I do too!
We decided to open the boxes and put them on the rug right away. The scholars loved seeing all of the colorful pieces and even have instruction booklets with ideas and ways to build different things! They all dove right in and played together. It was so fun to see sharing and scholars helping each other build. When it was time to clean up, many of them wanted to save what they built and add to it later.
Thank you for providing my scholars with new, fun materials. They can practice building and sharing. We are so excited to have these LEGOS for the rest of the year! Thank you!”

Funded Mar 3, 2018Thank you so much for your donations. The scholars were very excited to get our boxes delivered to our room! We opened the boxes together and talked about how we could use our things. It is so fun to have my scholars share their enthusiasm for learning.
The scholars right away loved using the ocean animal and dinosaur counters. I was so happy to see them sorting, talking about sorting, and counting right away. They were naming the animals and sharing.
We began our Creating and Constructing area of study. The "city rug" was perfect for the scholars to drive their construction vehicles on. They also used the rug to learn about cities and positional words, and maps. They were so excited to have a new rug!
I can't thank you enough for the new and exciting materials. My scholars are already applying their knowledge and learning more each day. We are truly grateful for your generosity.”

Creating and Constructing in PreK!
Funded Dec 31, 2017Thank you so much for the generous donations to our Creating and Constructing in Pre-K project. My scholars were so excited to open the big boxes that were delivered to our school. As we opened them, scholars were saying, "These are the best blocks ever!" "I thought these blocks were real bricks!"
After we opened the blocks. I let the scholars decide how and where they wanted to use them in our room. My scholars decided to put them in our winter area to build dens for the bears to hibernate. We have been learning about how animals adapt for winter and hibernation. I saw so much learning, sharing, and planning going on when they were using the blocks. I would have never have thought to use them for that! I love when my scholars are learning and having fun.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to get new building materials that can be used in so many ways! You are truly making a difference!”

Funded Dec 8, 2017Thank you for your donation. We were able to get a small shelf and colorful bins to organize some materials in our classroom. The best is that it is small, but has enough room to store all of our small group materials.
We used the shelf and bins to organize our group materials. Everyday our class participates in a small group instruction based on the needs and skills of our scholars. The shelf holds a bin for each group. I love that my scholars are now able to go to the shelf and help find the bin for their group. It helps both the scholars and adults to stay organized and have everything they need to teach a small group in one place.
We appreciate your generosity, you are truly making a difference!”

Funded Dec 8, 2017Thank you so much for your donations to our project. My scholars received their brand new puzzles and building materials early this week. I love giving them the chance to be there when we open our new boxes. Some of the comments that were made as the materials were revealed; "Ms. Parians I am so excited!" , "I can't wait to build new stuff!", "Can we build right now?"
It was so fun to see the excitement in their eyes. As they scholars started playing I was hearing them encourage each other. I was also hearing them compliments each Others work and offer a helping hand. It makes me so happy to hear and see these things happening in my classroom. Funded Apr 20, 2017My scholars have enjoyed reading and learning from our Scholastic "My Big World" magazines. Each month we have been getting new issues of the magazine and the scholars get so excited. I have even had families contact me to tell me that they are enjoying reading them at home as a family.
In my classroom, I have fifth grade helpers who come in to work with my scholars. One responsibility they have is to come in and be teachers. The Fifth grade helpers have been taking small groups of scholars and reading the magazines with them. It is so fun to watch them be leaders and seeing my PreK scholars learning!
We made a big connection this week to the magazines. The St. Paul fire department came to our school today. Yesterday we read "Our Friendly Firefighters" issue to prepare for their visit. It was fun to see them answer questions today because they have the background knowledge! Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to have these magazines in our classroom!”
