Enhanced Technology
Funded Jun 13, 2019I am extremely grateful for your generosity. Your funds will be used to incorporate more technology in the special education classroom. Many of these students do not have any form of technology in their house. The use of this laptop can help students complete computer assignments and can assist with their writing. Thank you again, the world is a better place, because people like you are in it.”

Funded Oct 10, 2018I greatly appreciate the items you have provided to my classroom. The students will be able enjoy learning the curriculum, without the access of sitting in a chair and desk. The wobble cushions, balance chairs, stools, and others can provide a flexible seating arrangement for these students. This group of special needs students, greatly appreciate your donation.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Chevron Fuel Your School.Beyond the Books with Technology
Funded Dec 20, 2016Words can not describe how grateful we are that our project was fully funded. My class consist of 11 special education fifth grade students. The kids have different disability ranging from ADHD, Autism and a couple that have intellectual disabilities. Many of these students do not have access to technology in their home. The only technology they see is at school.
When we first got the laptops we were beginning to practice for the state assessment writing test. Many of my students have difficulty with fine motors and become frustrated during the writing process. When they began typing their writing they were intimidated with writing 5 paragraphs. I am glad to say after 2 full months of working hard on writing they were typing 5 good paragraphs. Their writing exceeded my expectations and they grained self confident. The students were so happy that they were sharing their writing with some of the general education students. I had one student that used Google extensions and use the speech to text to write.
These project has not only helped my students academically but also emotionally. When I take out the lap tops they smile and ask what are we going to do today. Teaching can be difficult at times, but when I see how ecstatic the students get I remember it is all worth it. Thanks GOOGLE for funding my project.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. CARIDE
