These materials will make a difference in my students' lives because they will help them to feel safe in an organized classroom. For example, students know that they can find the day's agenda written in the same place on the board. It would be beneficial to have a bin to keep our Do Nows (or bell work) in the right hand corner of the counter so that students know where to look as soon as they enter the room. The same procedure applies when students in each class are looking for a place to turn in assignments. Furthermore, if a student is absent, missing work would be placed in individual folders. When students immediately begin working, they are maximizing their learning. The goal is for students to apply these skills in their personal lives so that they may also become efficient at home and in their young adult lives.
