I am in my second year of teaching and there are so many things I wish to give to my students, that I just do not have the funds for. I have been working hard to get flexible seating into my classroom in order to meet the needs of different learning styles. My students want to be the best that they can be... and it frustrates them when they can't get themselves to do what they want to do. This year, I have a handful of students that just need to be moving in order to stay focused and be successful. Wobble chairs are designed to support students with ADHD, because they provide a physical challenge and opportunity to release energy while working. These wobble chairs will be put at my small group table where my students do most of their work. It will benefit not only my struggling learners, but all of my other learners as well. I know that when I am learning or working, I want to be comfortable. Being in a hard chair all day is hard for students, and we already ask so much of them. My first graders work so very hard and they deserve anything they need to be successful learners.
