These materials will make a difference in my classroom and my students lives by providing them with practical and fun ways to connect with their Caribbean heritage. One of the most exciting days of the year for my students is "rep your flag day". I'm always amazed at how much pride the students have regarding culture and I would like to provide them with experiences that further that notion. By providing my students with steel pans, you will see them fully engaged in learning by playing and experiencing sounds that are authentic and unique. My school's budget does not allow for me to purchase steel pans as most of the instruments I've attained have been through grants and donations. With that said, my students and I would greatly appreciate your support! If our project is funded, we would love to post video performances playing the steel pans.
