STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. My students would benefit greatly from having a speaker that is both portable and easy to use in the classroom. Many times, we use websites like GoNoodle, BrainPOPJr, and Discovery KIDS to explore concepts or ideas. This speaker will not only facilitate teaching for me, but learning for my visual and auditory learners. They will use music and technology to empower their ability to understand and learn new concepts and ideas.
My students were born in this digital age where technology is taking over. Unfortunately, my students do not have the access nor resources to truly dive into all the different options available.
Giving low-income students access to new technology is an investment in their future. This will improve their school lives because they will be exposed not only to the technology but to Science and Mathematical concepts through the power of music and sound.
