My students are 9th grade English students at a public high school in Tampa, Florida. Our school is multicultural with a high percentage of free or reduced lunch recipients. Most of my students are regular students (not honors) and are not on grade level for reading or writing. The majority say they hate to read and write. They have a hard time concentrating on their work and are often bored by the texts in the syllabus. I am trying to instill a love of reading in them and for that I need help.
