Yoga Is MY Mental Health - Part 2
Funded Aug 13, 2021First off I want to say a big THANK YOU for donating to my project "Yoga is MY Mental Health". It has been such a great experience to be able to have Yoga in PE class, the blocks, straps, projector and screen allows all students to follow along with the sessions and practice at their own level, especially during these COVID, stress filled days, the benefits have been phenomenal.
When the boxes first arrived I was a little nervous about how the students would react to learning Yoga since many of them have never practiced Yoga before. After a few lessons, students began to understand and appreciate the benefits of Yoga and were actually looking forward to the days the class did Yoga in PE class.
There have been fellow teachers that have said they have noticed a change in the students and their approach to dealing with stress. Many students have used the breathing they learned in their Yoga classes to help them cope with the ongoing stressors in the classrooms and the results have been very noticeable and positive.
We, as a school, are reaping the benefits of being able to practice Yoga in PE class, and this would have never been able to happen without donors like you!!!
