  • Fashion Supplies For the Creek

    Funded Jun 12, 2020

Thank you SO much for your contribution to this project!

I’m looking forward to getting back to my classroom and watching my students creativity take off!!!

With these supplies, we will be able to dive in at the beginning of the year and learn a skill that will be useful for many years to come!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stevens

  • Embroidery at the Creek

    Funded Nov 11, 2019

Oh my goodness!! I'm SO excited to let you know that this project has been fully funded!

My students and I can't wait to receive this machine and learn a new skill. This is something that will generate interest in my curriculum, fundraising opportunities for my classes and a lifelong love of sewing and crafting!!

I'll be updating you all soon with pictures of students using the equipment and the products we make! THANK YOU!!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stevens

Students love to hear, "I love that, where did you get it?" and being able to answer,"Thanks! I made it!" They find pride in their work and enjoy sharing their talent. Project based learning is at the heart of my curriculum and my students thrive when given access to machines that help them bring their creativity to life. With this embroidery machine, I will challenge my students to make popular, on-trend items to sell for future fundraising projects. Being able to monogram jackets, backpacks or add our school logo onto handmade scarves will help raise money for our department and eventually buy new sewing machines. Students will feel a sense of ownership of the new machines, because they helped to buy them! I also can't wait to show students how they can choose a career in the fashion field and someday incorporate embroidery into their businesses. With websites like Etsy, Shopify, and even Amazon Handmade, students can learn how to make items to sell and start their own businesses following high school. The handmade marketplace is booming as people are searching for locally made items and supporting small businesses more than ever!
