Typing Club
Funded Dec 10, 2020Your generous gift of access to Typing Club has been a highlight to our K-3 students. As you may know, learning to type can be difficult and unmotivating but it is something in this digital age that we need to learn how to do and then along came TYPING CLUB! The kids are in love with it!
Each week, we practice exercising our fingers the way they do in Typing Club before we start our typing practice and technology lessons. The students love wiggling there fingers, stretching their wrists and logging into their individualized accounts to continue their progress of learning the keyboard. Each week they are seeing their progress to become life long typing wizards!”

Buzzing Into the Future With Coding
Funded Dec 17, 2019Wow! Thank you so much for your extremely generous donation to our technology classroom! When kids saw our boxes arrive they were so very excited because they have never used anything quite like this before.
Once I had a little "play time" with the mice and bees to do a trail run, students shut their screens down and set out to code their mice and bees across the "playground". Students had to work together in groups of 2-4, (thanks to your generosity for supply us with all of them) and actively participate in creating a paths for the bees/mice to take and then code the little critters to move. What started as a hands on coding lesson also became an amazing team building experience for each class in our school. During the time we shut down our screens, over 500 children were able to experience "Buzzing into the Future with Coding"! I can't wait to use them again real soon!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Endless and one other donor.Listening and Learning
Funded Oct 25, 2019We are forever grateful to you for choosing us to support! As our packages started arriving we were bursting with excitement! We now have our tables set up and have all chosen headphones that we are comfortable wearing, it makes such a difference!! Thank you!!
Our tables that we choose allow us to sit together in groups of as many as six, and we actually have room to spread out our materials around our computers and get down to business, but we are close enough to partner and share ideas and thinking on our computers. We love them!!
The headphones were the icing on the cake! We were all able to choose one pair that were comfortable on our ears and they work (unlike our old ones)! We are able to watch videos and write notes on what we are learning about. Our first project with our new headphones was ways that we can be safe while working online.
Thank you again for selecting us to support! With your generosity we will be "listening and learning" all year!”

Mrs. Finn
This classroom project was brought to life by An anonymous classroom supporter and one other donor.Listening = Learning
Funded Dec 15, 2016Thank you so much for your extremely generous donation to Donors Choose to fund my Listening=Learning project. Eyes lit up in the Coburn School classrooms as I shared our new headphones with the children.
As they opened the packages, they were so very excited to use their new headphones to work on two programs; Imagine Learning and Dream Box that they use daily in the classroom. Imagine Learning is a computer based intervention to increase their understanding/use of the English language and their reading proficiency. The second program is Dream Box which is a math based program that assesses each individual students skill level on the computer and then tailors math skills, problems, and a program within their grade level. Both of these programs are very individualized which is why we felt is was so necessary for the students to have headphones to be able to listen to what is being presented to them on the computer and allow them the opportunity to fully concentrate without the distraction of another computer.
With your very generous donation, you have made everyone at Coburn School very happy. We see smiles on the students faces as they are working on their computers with their headphones, smiles from the children as they find success in their learning and smiles on the teachers faces when we see the successes they are making as they transfer the knowledge to all areas of the curriculum throughout the day.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Finn
