Rainbow Table Groups and Organization
Funded Dec 31, 2023Thank you for donating to my classroom's Rainbow Organization. Your contribution allowed for my students to organize their school work and class portfolios in a way that is clear, accessible, and colorful. Class portfolios are designed for each student to easily organize their work so they can reflect on what they are doing well and what they need to grow in. Students love being able to keep their best work in their folders in an organized way.
Students love how their materials look in our classroom. Our school is aging and I work very hard to make sure our classroom still looks like a fun and exciting place to be, a place that they can feel like they are cared about and an organized and beautiful classroom helps them thrive.
Students will be using their rainbow folders in our next math unit, Algebraic Expressions. The work they will do over the course of the unit will be stored in their folders and eventually it will be reflected as areas of strength or growth in their portfolios. Thank you for all you help in making my classroom the best place it can be.”

Bright and Brimming with Promise - Girls Group
Funded Dec 23, 2016The new Girls Group resources we have received has transformed our DIY gathering into a full blown club that feels official, special, and impactful. Girls now come into the classroom, expecting to see their decorated journals waiting for them to write, draw, work, and reflect in. With the materials we received, we were able to kick off Girl's Group on the right foot, creating large posters that state our schedule, expectations, and full value contract. These visuals allow our girls to know exactly what is happening in group and why it is important.
Recently we asked the girls to draw pictures of their inner critics or "gremlins". They all clamored around our big box of art supplies which allowed each girl to uniquely depict their gremlins. It was such a fun exercise because it allow the girls to be creative, make sense of the things they might be saying to themselves, and talk about how to fix it. The art supplies and journals have made all the difference in the group feeling like a well oiled machine. We no longer struggle to gather supplies or have to share the markers.
Girls Group has two sessions left. We will be exploring gender and what that means as a young women in middle school as well as celebrating our accomplishments and making personal mission statements. Ms. Lewis and I are excited to continue the Girls Group work next year knowing we have the supplies to continue doing our group.
Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.”
