  • Time for Kids Magazine Subscription

    Funded Aug 11, 2023

Thank you so much for this generous donation. I loved Time for Kids when I was a student and I wanted to bring a magazine that the kids would love just as much. I used the Time for Kids digital magazine as a current event article for the students to complete every marking period. They have to read the article of their choice and then respond answering basic who, what, when, where, why questions. The choice of articles are awesome. Students always find something that they are interested in whether it be the latest movie, Time's person of the year, or even an article about events going on in our world, so thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Davide

  • Stand up and Learn

    Funded Dec 6, 2022

I was able to put a standing desk into another sixth grade classroom, that way students have the option to stand up in their other classes.

Here is a students thank you note. He uses it everyday during math. He said it helps him focus more during class:

What I like about the standing up desk is that when I am taking a test or quiz I can go up and down with that thing in the bottom for my legs. Also I can take out all of my energy by standing up for 1 or 2 periods.

This donation is being used on the daily and is greatly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Davide

  • Stand Up and Learn

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

The stand up desk is greatly appreciated! The students absolutely love it. One student uses it daily and wrote you a letter,

What I like about the standing up desk is that when I am taking a test or quiz, I can go up and down with my legs on the fidget pedal. The standing desk has helped me with my education is that it helped me with my nervousness because during those times I had nothing to get my energy out on, but now with the desk, I can take it out on the fidget pedal on the bottom. Thank you for the desk, I love it!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Davide

  • An Owl Ate That?!

    Funded Dec 8, 2016

Thanks to generous donors like yourself you provided my students with a wonderful hands on activity. They were so excited to dissect the owl pellets. It was great to watch most of the boys being disgusted by the owl pellet and the girls really enjoying it. There were several girls who would pull off every possible hair to get the bones super clean. The students were giddy and grossed out learning that they were holding bird skulls, shrew ribs, and mouse jaws. As a teacher, it was wonderful to watch my students being so engaged in this project. They were actively discussing and exploring the owl pellet. Thank you for this amazing opportunity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Davide

I would love the chance to buy owl pellets for my students. When I was in elementary school we had the opportunity to dissect animals and it is still something that I remember today. It was such a hands on experience that it was hard to forget, including the awful smell! My students would love being able to break apart the owl pellet. This experience would really connect each one of them with nature. They will use their findings to determine exactly what the owl ate. The students might find rodent, mole, birds, and shrew body parts. They can find skulls, ribs, limbs, and even the vertebrate. This project will help science come alive for the students.
