Math Station Shuffle
Funded Mar 27, 2018These math games have made a tremendous impact on how my students look at math. We have used the games as intended and have used them to create more games and for the students to create new ways to teach each other! They took ownership of their own learning and equated it to life experiences. I have seen tremendous growth and students who have never passed state testing have passed!!! This includes my students with special needs! They also have developed a love of math that will take them into the future.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.Life and Habitat Explorations
Funded Mar 16, 2017My students were able to learn so much more from seeing the process of metamorphosis first hand rather than from just pictures and memorization. The excitement that it elicited was phenomenal. It also made them so much more observant and aware of these organisms in their natural habitat. They preferred looking at trees and butterfly gardens near the school to see if they could find this in nature. When they did find a cocoon outside, they were beside themselves. As we released the butterflies, which seemed to not want to leave their habitat, the students then were able to know where to place each butterfly.
This also rang true with the super worms and toads as well. They were able to experience first hand how these organisms reacted and interacted within their ecosystems and food webs. The excitement and joy was brought into the classroom and I was ecstatic when so many of my students by the end of the year said that they wanted to be scientists in the future. Thank you for opening up this hands on knowledge for my students.”
