Follow the Readers!
Funded Feb 8, 2018I first want to start by thanking you again for your generosity. My students were super excited to know we have a variety of leveled books that they can read by themselves. They are thrilled about the individual carpet squares that they can read on and take anywhere in the classroom. Reading in my classroom is engaging and pleasant now. My students look forward to coming to my reading class to pick out their favorite book.
As a teacher I first practice reading strategies with my students . They use these strategies when they choose a book to read on their own. Strategies such as blending sounds, sounding out words, and knowing vowel combinations. After we read together my students have a chance to keep reading the same book or find another book that is on their level. Now my classroom library is organized and orderly which helps my students become efficient. Thank
you again for helping us become Reader Leaders!!”

We Are Bit by the Technology Bug!
Funded May 25, 2016I can not thank you enough for donating to my project . As a result of your generosity we are learning to be technologically savvy. My students use the tablets everyday. They look forward to and are excited about coming to my classroom because they know they will work with the tablets.
On the tablet I loaded a reading curriculum app to better organize and engage my students in word play instead of working with regular letter tiles. Tiles tend to get lost and my students and I were beginning to become very unorganized. Since we now have the letters on the tablets I can have a group of four and have enough letter tiles for everyone.
Once again thank you so much. My students are so appreciative and eager to learn with this new technology tool.”

Help Us Jet Into the Future With Technology!
Funded Mar 11, 2016I want to thank you again for opening the door to technology in my classroom. My students absolutely love working with the tablets. They knew exactly what they were and how to use them when I brought them out. They were so happy to know they would be using technology during reading class.
I was able to find free reading apps so my students could explore reading and making word families, reading sight words, and finding rhyming words. I am so happy to report we have caught the technology bug!
Again thank you so very much for your much needed donation. I am so happy you have chosen to invest in the children of our future.”

This classroom project was brought to life by #BestSchoolDay and one other donor.Help Guide Us to Reading Greatness!
Funded May 18, 2015Words can not express how grateful my students and I are for your donation. First of all, those vocabulary cards have opened a whole new world to my students. It was surprising to see how many of them did not know the name of basic photos of food, animals, etc. The photo cards really help expand their vocabulary.
Secondly, my students now have their own stamps and individual word work center that they can complete on their own. They were so excited to use the stamps with the fill in the blank phonics center. They want to use it everyday. The word work center allows them to individually practice making words and gives them a self check method on the back. This helps my students become accountable for correcting their work.
Again I am so appreciative as a teacher that you used your time and money to donate materials for my students. It is evident that you value education in all children.
Thanks again.”

We're Scientists in the Making!
Funded Dec 1, 2013My students are so grateful for the donation they received. Thank you so much! When the box came to our classroom I opened it up in front of my students and someone said "now we can do science all day".
They are delighted to have balances for center time . We use them in science and math for weighing objects. The science sort and parachute keep the students intrigued when they are working in groups on their own. They make records of their discoveries and are able to connect them to other subjects.
This project has helped my students see that science is more than writing in a workbook. Science is hands on learning. This project also helps my students with comparing and contrasting and other comprehension strategies that help them understand science concepts and more.”

Armed And Dangerous (With Reading Skills)!
Funded Nov 27, 2012Greetings from 1st grade. We are so appreciative of our new literacy center activities. The students can finally listen to CD's and follow along with their books because of our new individual cd players. We are building words and making new words with our new magnetic letters. Our center time has taken a turn for the best.
Thank you so much for your donation. We hope that we have inspired you and others to continue to support public schools because we need supporters like you. Funding is very limited and teachers rarely if ever get a chance to upgrade activites students can use hands on.
Thank you again!”

Good Books + Listening Center = Great Kindergarten Readers
Funded Dec 8, 2010Words can not express our appreciation for the new listening center and books. Now my students not only listen to books individually ,but they also listen to real alouds and they are excited about it. This gift allows us to fully appreciate and enjoy books.
It would have been years before we would have gotten a listening center that plays CD's. There is currently no money in our school budget to buy any more equipment or materials.
Thank you so much donors for your donations. You all have truly been a blessing to children. ”

Funded Apr 30, 2010Thank you so much for your generosity. It is evident that you all have made a conscious decision to invest into children and want to make a difference. Thank you for making a difference in my classroom.
These resources have truly contributed to the education of my students. They now want to read non fiction books in 1st grade!!! The beautiful carpet has made the designated reading place a great place to read a book.
Thank you again for helping me make a connection with reading, science, and math. Again this gives my students valuable information that they can use for years to come.”

Funded Apr 23, 2010Thank you all again for your generosity. These whiteboards and erasers have made a huge difference in my classroom. The kids are so eager to use them for every subject. They are great for small groups as well as whole group lessons.
These tools are so versatile I use them in reading for word building as well as math (equations, digital time, and money).
These whiteboards have done the job. The kids are engaged and looking forward to learning. They are charged up and fired up. Thank you again”

Funded Oct 20, 2009I just wanted to take this time to let you all know how much of a difference you've made in my classroom. My students were lost for words as I displayed the new learning centers, new books, and the plant and root grower. The big surprise was the fish aquarium. Some of my students have never had a pet at home or in a class. This is truly a new experience for most of them. We even had a contest to name the fish. I am so excited to be able to show them another example of a living thing in our classroom.
The impact this project has made on my students is huge. My classroom has truly been transformed to a real science lab with engaging materials. My students now have proper materials to explore and manipulate so they can test their own hypothesis.
I could not have done this by myself, or it would have taken me to the end of the school year to buy these items. Your support is so appreciated. All of you have truly helped me as a teacher prove science is not just reading books and answering pre printed questions. Science can be fun, interactive, exciting, and teachable.
Thank you again...... ”
