Books for Band
Funded Nov 6, 2021I hope this letter finds you well! I want to take a moment to express our deep appreciation for your generous support, which has provided our beginner band with new method books. These resources have already begun to transform our students' musical experiences in remarkable ways.
When the students first unwrapped the new method books, the excitement was electric! They eagerly flipped through the pages, discovering colorful illustrations and engaging exercises. One student exclaimed, "Look at all these cool songs we can learn!" It was heartwarming to see their enthusiasm and curiosity about the musical journey ahead.
We are currently using the method books to build foundational skills in playing their instruments. Students are learning essential techniques, music theory, and even some popular songs that they are excited about. These books provide a structured yet enjoyable approach to learning, helping students feel more confident as they practice both individually and as a group.
Looking ahead, our next steps involve preparing for a group performance where students will showcase what they've learned so far. We will select a few pieces from the method books to play together, allowing them to apply their skills in a collaborative setting. This performance will not only celebrate their progress but also foster a sense of community and accomplishment within the band.
Thank you once again for your incredible support. Your generosity is having a lasting impact on our students, inspiring them to explore their musical talents and develop a lifelong love for music.”

Funded Nov 13, 2023I hope this message finds you well! I wanted to take a moment to share the incredible impact your generous donation has had on our music program. Thanks to your support, we recently acquired new recorder instruments, and the excitement in our classroom has been palpable.
When the students first laid eyes on the shiny new recorders, their reactions were priceless. Gasps of excitement filled the room, and they immediately began to explore the instruments, eager to see what sounds they could produce. One student held up a recorder and shouted, "Can we play a song right now?" Their enthusiasm reminded me of the joy music brings, and it was a heartwarming moment to witness.
We have since incorporated the recorders into our current unit on melody and rhythm. Students are learning to play simple songs, focusing on notes and timing. They are also collaborating in small groups to create their own melodies, allowing for creativity and teamwork. This hands-on approach not only reinforces their musical skills but also boosts their confidence as they perform for each other.
Looking ahead, our next steps involve preparing for a small class concert where students will showcase what they've learned. They will perform both their favorite songs and the original melodies they created together. This performance will be an excellent opportunity for them to share their progress with their peers and family, fostering a sense of accomplishment and community.
Thank you once again for your support and belief in our students' potential. Your generosity is truly making a difference in their musical journey, and I can't wait to see how their passion for music continues to grow.”

Ukes For Youths Part 2
Funded Jan 14, 2021The Ukuleles were an integral part of our music curriculum this year. We managed to have our students learn many songs throughout the year. The students were also able to us them during quarantine and school closures. we worked together online to achieve our goals. The transition to remote learning was seamless with the ukuleles. The students were able to make short videos of songs and post them to our school instagram account. Our entire 3rd grade class was able to have access to the ukuleles. This donation made it a great year.”

The student's can't wait to get on and play music with their friends. The recorder group is the bridge into band for our school. It's great to see the enthusiasm in the students and parents as well. It's nice to know that the arts are still alive in these trying times. One day we will all be back in the classroom playing music together. We just want say thank you for enhancing our remote learning experience.”

Funded Feb 1, 2018Thank you again for your generous donations. Our students will be using these marching bells in all upcoming events now and for many years to come. Students succeed when they have appropriate tools needed for success. These bells are the tools needed for future success in parades and community events.
Our students were excited to see that people outside of our immediate school community were interested in seeing us succeed in our goals. Future band students are anticipating using these bells in the coming years.
We plan on building on our music program with more up and coming projects in the future. Our students will benefit tomorrow from your generosity today.”

Ukes For youths
Funded Mar 29, 2017The ukuleles have already impacted our program. We have introduced them to our second graders and plan on going into first grade next year.
With 10 ukuleles we can service 20 students with sharing. The students are excited and already playing some simple chords. Next year will be great to see these in full effect.
Parents are excited to see their children come home with these instruments. This is a triple win for us. Our program grows, the students are excited and the parents are happy.”

Funded Sep 24, 2014Thank you for your generosity. The students were truly thankful that people we don't know helped us with our performance goals for the year. The students were impressed by the lyres and stands.
We will begin rehearsing for our upcoming parades and events using our new lyres and stands for marching band. We can't wait to perform.
With the use of the lyres and stands the students can now perform at different venues and for different occasions. We already have two events planned and can plan more now.
People like you keep our program thriving and help the children strive to become better players. These resources we will have an impact on many students for many years as well as many families. When students perform their families show up. This provides a 2 fold or even 3 fold experience. It creates family time and strengthens the family bond.”

This classroom project was brought to life by an anonymous donor and 6 other donors.Saxophone Cases For Our Band.
Funded Apr 23, 2014Thank you for your generosity. The students could not believe the new cases. The cases make it easier for the children to transport their instruments back and forth to school. The cases are lightweight and compact compared to the hard shelled cases.
Some of the students may take the school bus home or walk home. Either way the new cases are not as cumbersome. The parents are just as grateful for these cases. The children have to carry their backpacks plus their instrument on band days. The cases make all of this easier.
These cases will have an impact on all saxophone players for many years to come. Thanks to your generosity our band members will be able to get their instruments back and forth to school easier than before.”

Mr. Stephens
