The materials will be used to help students to understand the world around them and develop their own perspectives. Students will be coached on how to defend their point of view through debate matches.
The purpose of this activity is to provide 4th and 5th-grade students opportunities to increase their reading abilities, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. All of these students are bright and lack experiences that support them in becoming well-rounded students.
