Doll House Funtastic!
Funded Jan 9, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donation. The students were super excited and eager when they saw our new beautiful dollhouse. Our dollhouse has been such a popular center that we have implemented a 15 minutes timer rotation so multiple students have the opportunity to play in it daily. Even though we do not have any furnitures to use with the dollhouse, it has been a pleasure to see how the students have taken it upon themselves to get creative and make the best use of it.
Some of the students use the people from the block area along with foam blocks to recreate bedrooms and living rooms. Other students have taken it upon themselves to use the dollhouse as parking lot/garage and even a car wash and they use the toy cars with it. Other students have used the dollhouse as a treehouse for animals. Regardless the students always look forward in playing with the dollhouse.”

Funded Dec 4, 2023Thank you so much for your generous contributions. These books have been a big hit with my bilingual families. Families are happier because they can engage and read with their child at home and make connections. Students are more excited during "share time" because they get to express and share the books they read together with their families at home. They also get to enjoy reading the same books in the classroom and make connections with their classmates. It's motivating to see how students that felt left out because of the language barrier are taking an interest in books now. That makes me really happy and grateful for your contributions.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so much for your contributions! The students were really excited and eager to use the new manipulative. It allowed them to have hands on experience and ownership of their own learning. They came right in time for two of our unit of studies!
During the unit of study of "Where We Live" students learned about different animals' habitats. They had a really good time sorting the animals into land and water categories. This sorting center was a big hit! They also had a lot of fun working in groups and creating habitats for farm animals, ocean animals and wild animals in the block center.
During the unit of study of "Transportation" students learned about different vehicles, safety signs and the modes of transportation we use. Students loved creating roadways, highways and train tracks and being able to have the vehicles to drive around and set up the different road signs.”

Funded Apr 23, 2022My students loved their new books! Every day during independent reading time, they were eager to read their books. Every week, students had the opportunity to browse through all the new books and choose their preferred reading spots. Some read at their tables, some read on the floor while others read on bean bags. They were super engaged and even took turns with the books while some were so ecstatic they read some of the books together.
They really enjoyed taking the books home to read with their families. It's been a while since they were happy about book shopping every week!
Your contributions definitely made Reader's workshop, small groups and read aloud fun, engaging and successful for the class and myself.”
