Plant, Grow, Eat!
Funded Mar 1, 2023The green house and supplies has been such an amazing gift to our classroom. We began using it in Spring 2023 and planted tomatoes, basil and green beans. Scholars were able to water them and go in and out of the green house as they please.
The students were so excited to unbox the items with me. Each student was given a piece of the greenhouse to help me build it. They also loved the mornings with the green house and going in to water their plants.
We are now in a new school year. Instead of planting seeds, I began the year with some house plants inside. The students are still able to go in and out and water the plants. We have a calming corner in the classroom and the students moved it themselves into the greenhouse. They love it in there. In the spring, we will begin to plant seeds again so scholars can grow plants and eventually take them home.”

Surprise! Bring Cheer to Kindergarten and Help Make Them Smile!
Funded Jun 8, 2020My scholars have had a great summer and beginning of the new school year because of the materials you have helped purchase. The brain quest books were used to practice reading and math throughout the summer. Scholars and their families were happy to have a paper resource in order to improve upon foundational skills.
Scholars are now in the first grade and I have heard all about the stories they have been writing in their new writing journals. One scholar often tells me how they're an author now that they've written their own book.
Thank you so much for taking your time to read about this project and choosing to donate. Your impact has helped make many people happy as well as help to create a smooth transition between remote and in person learning. We all truly appreciate you.”

Full STEAM ahead!
Funded Mar 17, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donations. Using K'nex sets in our classroom has had a huge impact, particularly with student confidence and problem solving skills. I have seen various groups of students work together in order to share materials and an instruction booklet to create something brand new. They used their knowledge of the engineering design process to help them persevere when things may not have been going their way. Using the K'Nex helped each child plan, create, test and rebuild their design. Learning to problem solve led to their increase in confidence. Each child knew that they were completing a challenging task and they were proud when they were finished.
The students loved to build and we will continue to create new projects while exploring simple machines!”
