Greetings from Ayden, North Carolina. I am at two middle schools serving students in grades K-8th. I have worked hard to create an environment in my classroom and with peers' classrooms where kids can explore and try new things. I encourage each student and promote positive attitudes. My students and I incorporate new ideas with old ideas while creating and learning. My schools are small, our budgets are even smaller, but our hearts and minds are big! We try new ways to approach problems, and we are working on persistence and a "growth mindset" when things don't go right the first time. I shop sales and at the dollar stores for items that spark interests for any of my students. I've been known to stand in line on "pre-school" and Black Friday to buy Legos, play doh, and markers for my kids! I just hope to love, encourage, and challenge my kids every day in my classrooms and at our school.
