Classroom Technology Upgrade!
Funded Sep 6, 2022At the end of the last school year, I had to buy a bulb for my projector. My projector was outdated. My school did not have funds to buy light bulbs for projectors. It was up to me to fill this need for my classroom. I bought the bulb out-of-pocket. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem. Even with a new bulb, my projector was super dark when projector images. I was very disappointed. Our campus technology teacher told me there were no projectors to spare or extra bulbs. Every projector on campus was either broken or used by other teachers.
We use projectors on a daily basis. This is how we "show" students our examples, pages, or online support. This replaces the old projector with the clear sheets teachers used when I was a kid. When we do not have a working projector, it becomes very hard to share information for students.
The donations to fulfill my project was perfect and greatly needed. Thank you for helping me offer a new projector for my students. They were so impressed by the brightness of our new Epson EX3280. Happy Holidays! Know you made a difference in our classroom!”

Funded Oct 6, 2020This school year has been one like no other! I have taught as a public school teacher for 15 years. Technology has never been more important! I am unable to provide all of these devices for my students from my salary. My school district has provided devices for our students, but this endeavor has taken time. Many laptops ordered by our district were on backorder! Imagine how many students needed devices country-wide for school this year!
My Donors Choose box came arrived at the perfect time! We were about to start school in-person. These items were delivered and I was immediately able to give them to students who did not yet have technology. This donation was a blessing for my class! I was even able to let my co-teacher borrow a laptop for one of her homeroom students. Once the district provided a device for him, I was able to use the Donors Choose laptop for another student in my class who returned to in-person learning.
I have been able to furnish HP laptops or an iPad (plus pen) for students in need. Some days my in-person students do not have technology. Some students are not living in their homes. Some parents have lost their jobs or apartments. Through the generosity of Donors Choose, I have been able to provide technology for students who are without and alleviate stress for their parent(s). Your donation has made our school year that much easier. Trust me, it has not been an easy school year. Every positive impact counts!!! We are forever thankful!”

Hearing and Speaking Practice for English Language Learners
Funded Nov 21, 2019First of all, I hope this holiday season finds you well. We are in the midst of testing and many other middle-of-the-year activities. My second grade students work very hard everyday. They come to school and love to learn and work!
Over the summer, many of our headphones were broken or destroyed. I bought low cost headphones last school year. They, obviously, did not last the test of time or summer school students! I was unable to send my students to our computers because we did not have working headphones!
Now, I'm proud to send my students to their computers. We have 4 student computers. As you can see, we are extremely pleased to be able to go the computers with the sturdy headphones your donations furnished. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

Funded Oct 31, 2018I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday! I had to take a moment to thank you for your donation. My students were overjoyed when we received a large box from the front office. They couldn't believe someone had actually sent a package to them!
They already knew our math stations were old and worn. When I told them I created a project on the Donor's Choose website, they were excited!
I let my students take turns opening the boxes of math manipulatives and stations sent to us. They were ecstatic! We have been using these math manipilatives in class for a few math units. We will be using the rest of them for the duration of the school year.
Enjoy the rest of your holidays and thank you from Houston, Texas. My words cannot express how happy I am with your generosity!”

Funded Oct 26, 2018Happy Holidays! I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your generous donation. We use our color printer everyday. We were sad when we ran out of ink! Since, you donated color-ink, our world is back to being expressive and happy!
I send home letters to parents, print items for station work, create labels, and print leveled books in color! There's so much more we can do with our printer when we have color ink! In the future, I will print end-of-the-year certificates for each of my students. My list is endless!
Thank you so much for your generosity! My students loved opening their box and were excited to hear our world would be in-color, again! A big thanks to you from Houston, Texas!”

Super Readers Need Super Books!
Funded Aug 18, 2017My students work very hard and have a thirst to read! Some of them do not have personal libraries at home. A few of my students lost everything during Hurricane Harvery. Some of my students do not get read to at home.
It is my duty to provide an abundance of literature for them! As you can see, my students lik to read biographies and other non-fiction books. I have a library in my classroom provided by my school. Many of those books have been read repeatedly and are worn and tattered.
Your generosity expanded our class library and made it more exciting! Thank you so much for the biographies and sports book collections. We are truly enjoying these books!”

Funded Aug 1, 2017Thank you for donating ink for our color printer! Due to Hurricane Harvey, I am little behind with my "thank you." We missed some school at the beginning of the year. I received my package later, as well.
In one of my pictures, you can see how bland my classroom is without a print-rich environment. Using a color printer has given us so many options! I am able to provide visuals needed by my English Language Learners.
I can print for my team, when they need color prints. I can print pictures of my students for stations. So much of my classwork is printed in color now thanks to your generosity.”

Funded Jan 20, 2017The impact in my classroom is remarkable! I had to send things to the teacher's work room to be printed before I had a printer in my classroom. All the copies were black and white. If I wanted to get items printed in color, I had to place a special request through the administrative staff. Sometimes, I just needed a quick color copy to send home!
I created a Donor's Choose project because I saw the need in my classroom. I honestly, didn't think it would get fulfilled. When I received notice that my project had been funded, I couldn't believe my eyes!
I use the provided color printer throughout my school days. My students are extremely proud and appreciative. Our classroom is more vibrant and filled with color! I print words for my word wall, lesson plans, and colorful activity/station papers.
I am a member of Raz Kids. I print books in-color for my students, at their reading level. They are able to choose the books they want printed (in color) which makes reading more exciting for them!
Both of my classes are a part of Classroom Dojo. Certificates are printed for them, as awards for their Dojo points.
Homework and notes for my parents are also printed in color!
I'm proud or myself for taking the step to create a D.C. Project. I'm astounded at your generosity. Thank you so very much from my classroom to you!”
