  • Good Readers Make Great Mathematicians

    We are so thankful for your donations. We were grateful to see so many of our friends and families step up to support us. However, we were even more touched by the individuals near and far who saw a school in need and decided to help.

    So far, my students have been able to utilize 2 of the books we have received. Both books served as amazing tools to enhance to comprehension of the mathematics we worked on in class. We were able to integrate both the "Our New Car, Ratios and Proportions" and "Land Animals Solving Equations and Inequalities" into our units of study.

    The books presented real-world ideas and visual representations for my students to better access the curriculum. In addition, they also revitalized the students' interested in the topics. I now see excitement in my students, for they are all experiencing some sort of success in my Mathematics classroom.”

Ratios and Proportions, Percents, and Equations and Inequalities are some of the main topics in Mathematics this year. I would like to bring books into the classroom to support my students' understanding of the mathematical concepts. With the help of real world ideas, and visual representations, my students will be able to better access the curriculum. These books will provide concrete examples in which to apply abstract mathematical concepts. Mathematical books would be a great addition to be integrated within our Units of Study. My students will be able to foster a love for reading and strengthen their English language skills, all while working on the mathematics embedded within the books.

About my class
