This generous donation of markers will allow my students to be able to begin experimenting as artists and scientists with how color plays an important part in the world of art and science. STEM to STEAM is a fun way to cover cross-curricular activities. My students will learn about Chromatography, which is the separation of a mixture (in this case it will be the ink from the markers) by having it interact with a liquid (water, oil, or milk). The students will be able to see how passing it through a medium such as a coffee filter, or different types of paper will make the ink move at different rates. This will also create beautiful design on the papers.
