Social Emotional Learning Tools
Funded Aug 18, 2023Thank you so much for your support of Noble Public Schools and specifically, Pioneer Elementary. We have been busy using the supplies that you donated to Pioneer for our Social Emotional Learning.
Our students were extremely excited to see the new supplies and couldn't wait to use them. The students used the markers, colored pencils, paper, and sharpies on posters to celebrate Red Ribbon Week and making healthy choices. We were also able to use those supplies on our Fun Friday rotation in the gym and had an art station set up where students could enjoy free art time.
The glitter gel pens have become a hit in the counseling office and students love to draw and write with them. It's also been great to have spiral notebooks on hand to give away to new students who come to our district without school supplies. This was previously a cost I absorbed out of my own pocket.
I plan on using the construction paper for an upcoming kindness project and the group games will be incorporated into my spring lessons especially as the weather gets nicer again.”

Funded Aug 14, 2021The sensory items have been amazing for students and teachers. I've had several teachers stop by my office and comment on how great it smells and how calm it makes them feel (thank you scent diffuser). I've had more than one student ask to turn off the lights and lie down and watch the light show from the light projector.
The magnet building toys have been a huge hit and have allowed for lots of creative play including trying to string all the magnet toys together to span the length of my office.
However, to my surprise, the most used items are the liquid timers. I leave them out on my desk where students can easily reach for them during conversations. Kids are fascinated by how they work and with some observation, have figured out the mechanics behind them. Teachers will turn them over and watch them while discussing a hard day or will use them to stay collected during a phone conference with a parent.”

Funded Apr 10, 2021Thank you so much for supporting my project to get new, durable shoes on the feet of our students who need them the most! I was able to give away a few pairs of shoes before the end of the school year, and have several pairs that are ready to give away once the students come back next week.
I think my favorite part of this project is seeing the students' faces when I take them into the little room where we store the shoes. I have all the shoes in the boxes on shelves to give an appearance of a shoe store. They are always excited and of course I 'play' the shoe store employee. I have them sit down and try them on and wiggle their toes so I can see if they fit. Sometimes, I wonder how many of them have ever gotten the experience of going to a shoe store to pick out some new shoes, so I try to make this opportunity special for them.
I feel like they stand a little taller and walk a little more confidently with their new shoes on-and that is all because of you!”

Mrs. M.
Donors 'Shoes'
Funded Jan 13, 2020I wanted to tell you all thank you for your generosity toward my Donors Shoes project. Several students received new shoes because of you.
One student who received a pair of shoes was so excited and proud. He put them on and showed everyone his new shoes. At the end of the day, he came back to my office in his old shoes. I asked him where his new shoes were. He showed me the shoe box that they came in and asked if I had a plastic bag to put the shoe box in. He explained that since it had rained earlier in the day, his dirt road would be muddy and he wanted to keep his new shoes perfect.
A second student was so selfless and wanted to let someone else who needed shoes more than him have them. This young man was wearing his mom's black boots that were way too big (he also didn't have on socks, was wearing his jacket as a shirt with nothing on underneath, and had worn the same pants for several days in a row). We were able to get him his own shoes (along with socks and a change of clothes) and he was very thankful.
The third student was super excited about his new shoes and couldn't wait to try them out in PE. After his class finished PE, he stopped by my office to tell me that he ran faster than he ever had, thanks to his new shoes!
These are just a few of the students that we were able to help since you were willing to help us!”

This classroom project was brought to life by An anonymous classroom supporter and 3 other donors.Literature for Life Skills
Funded Feb 26, 2017My students and I have enjoyed having new books and supplies for the counseling classroom. The first week of school, we read 'What if Everybody Did That?' and discussed our class rules and what could happen if we didn't follow those rules. Last week, the 2nd grade students read 'Memoirs of a Goldfish' and the 3rd grade students read 'Enemy Pie'. We talked about friends and what characteristics are important to us in friends. 2nd graders had to decide which fish on a worksheet had 'good friend characteristics' and color them in (using our new colored pencils!), such as kind, fair, and shares. 3rd graders had to decide which 'good friend ingredients' to include in their 'friendship pie' and color them in.
The books really kept the students' attention and kept them engaged in the lesson; maybe a little too engaged as one 2nd grader cried when it was time to go back to class because he wasn't done drawing the crab from the goldfish book.
The electronic pencil sharpener has become quite a novelty and as soon as one student sharpens a pencil...10 other kids need to sharpen a pencil! I'm still trying to figure out the best way to curb their sharpening enthusiasm!
We're off to a great start of our school year thanks to our donors!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. M.
