My students are in desperate need of 1 to 1 headphones. Our school was blessed with iPads for each child to use, but they do not have the ability to hear many of the reading/learning apps that I have downloaded for them. My students often get iPad time during my Guided Reading block. They do self directed studies at their own level. Unfortunately, I cannot have all the different speakers blaring at the same time. Listening is learning. The Common Core State Standards include listening as a component to language arts. My students can hear stories and learn about things in the world around them as they work independently. I have purchased Dollar Store headphones in previous years for my students, but they do not last, and I have thrown away entire class sets by the end of the year. I really hope to get a class set of heavy uses headphones for my current, and future classes to use!
