My students are beginning learners, and they need exposure to all of the different types of literacy and mathematics resources that are available to them. For the past three years, our county has focused on student centered learning. My students need more resources to practice and extend their knowledge of sight words, letter sounds, writing, reading, and the ability to perform mathematically. My students are also growing in a technology infused education environment, and the ability to use this new computer will be an important skill that they need to learn. These resources will aid in their development as learners, and it will give them the primary exposure to all of the different ways that they can learn new material. Sight words, phonics, number sense, and other concepts related to early learning are all areas where these resources will be useful. Students participate in student centers every day, and these resources will help to provide the foundation for some, and to extend their abilities in others. Students enter into kindergarten on different levels, and their ability to perform kindergarten level work is at different levels as well. Students will use the resources for centers, guided groups with the teacher, and for independent centers when students are not working with the teacher. The increased resource of technology will allow students to develop their ability to function computers, and computer software.
