My exceptional kindergarteners need a variety of engaging math center activities to help develop early math concepts and skills. These math centers will provide students with multiple opportunities to develop thinking, reasoning, and fine motor skills as they build a solid mathematical foundation as well as opportunities to work collaboratively with each other. Having an assortment of math center activities will help create and maintain interest in mathematics, provide multiple venues for developing and discussing important mathematical ideas, and encourage self-direction and choice. Every time I hear a giggle, witness an ah-ha, or see the pure joy on these young mathematicians faces, I know we're on the right track! I am asking for the Early Math Activity Jars and other similar items to help students build early math concepts as well as practice following directions. These hands-on activities will allow students to explore these math concepts by using picture supported directions and easy to handle manipulatives and containers. These will provide multiple opportunities for students to actively sort objects, graph, count, compare, order, add, subtract, and discuss math concepts, engaging the body and the mind. These inviting centers also serve as great hand-eye coordination activities and provide fine motor skill practice. The Complete Set of Hands-On Math Centers will support students as they solve math problems. The high-interest mats and objects are irresistible for students, making math engaging and fun. The whiteboards will provide students with a place to record their thinking to use during the summary share-out, thus developing recording skills, listening and speaking skills, and language development. The possibilities are endless when you engage these mathematicians!
