  • Keep Bright Students Enlightened

    Funded Aug 24, 2024

Thank you so much for the support! My classroom is an incredible space for learning because of you. Students and adults step into my classroom and tell me that it is such a warm and inviting places. Staff members have said that if they were provided a space like mine, they would have enjoyed learning a lot more in high school, and felt much more supported. The lights and plants of changed the way the classroom feels and looks.

In addition, I was able to provide fidget toys for students in order to encourage them to keep their phones away. While a tough endeavor, they have seriously helped students stay more focused and keep their hands busy without the need or distraction of a cell phone.

Lastly, during extra help sessions, your donations have helped with providing snacks for students who are then not able to grab lunch, or for students who do not have lunch. This has been so helpful in getting kids focused and learning when they are struggling! Thank you again for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cohen

  • Help Ms. Cohen Provide More Quality Feedback

    Funded Feb 21, 2021

Thank you again so much for the extra screen! This year it was a huge part of me being able to provide impactful feedback as well as navigate the new classroom: zoom! With a second screen, I was able to project videos without the clutter of zoom chat, toolbars, and user panels. I was also able to move the teacher view of Pear Deck onto another screen in order to read student answers and respond more quickly. It was an invaluable asset to the virtual classroom.

Even though it might seem trivial, having the dual screen setting was so important to providing my students with the best possible classroom outcomes. This was an incredibly hard year for us all, but for the students especially, and they deserved the best I could give them. This helped.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cohen

  • New Technology to Help Historians!

    Funded Dec 9, 2020

Thank you again so much for your generous donation. These chromebooks have helped 3 students who were using their phones or outdated ipads in being able to complete their remote work in a fairer and more equitable way. To type papers on a phone, or try to navigate the different platforms we use like Pear Deck, Desmos, and Delta Math is a nearly impossible task that had prevented these students from being successful. Their previous frustrations are gone.

Students are most excited about being able to be independent and not have to make excuses for not being able to complete their work. Students want to be successful, but having to complete online learning with just a cell phone is not realistic nor fair. These students are happy to finally be able to thrive in the remote setting just by having new technology.

This has not only impacted students in my class, but in all their classes. As I teach 11th graders, this is such an important year for college so these chromebooks have really gone a long way! Thank you again for your generosity and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cohen
