We need 12 headphones that we can connect to the computers in our classroom. Students will listen to an audible story while reading along with text. Students will wear headphones to listen to audible text then answer questions. Good readers tend to be good listeners; good listeners tend to be good readers. Studies show that listening and reading are related brain activities. We will use the headphones to complete reading and writing assignments. Students benefit from listening to stories being read aloud. Students will be able to work independently by listening to stories and then answering questions. Students in our class read at different levels. Headphones will help facilitate accommodations by allowing students to select texts that can be brought to live while they read.
