We wish to join the quarter of a million students who participate in First Lego League. To do so, we will need financial assistance from outside sources to purchase the additional items needed for competition. Donations made to this project will allow us to purchase the necessary components for the students to build and maintain their LEGO EV3 robots. In order for the students to compete at any competition, they will need sensors, motors, cables and extra batteries that will allow them to meet the challenges set forth by the competition. They will need the accessory kits to allow for modifications to the robot that a core kit allows them to build. A First Lego League robotics team will allow us to provide must needed after school learning opportunities for our 6th-8th grade students. As educators, we prepare our students for higher education, for a career, and for success in life. Offering them access to robotics gives them exposure to a career field that has a significant presence in the Greater Dayton job market in which most of our students will participate. Advancement in technology and job growth in this field open up opportunities for our students that can carry them into the future
