Juicing Towards a Healthier Lifestyle!
Funded Mar 13, 2018We are so thankful for our Juicing towards a Healthier Lifestyle Project. Through your generous donations we have been able to make this project a reality. Thanks to the much needed juicers that we received through your donations the students were able to learn about a healthier way of living and how to run a business. Through this project the students were able to appreciate a unique learning experience. The students were exposed to a variety of vegetables and fruits in which they learned about the nutritional values of these foods. They discovered new food products that they never tasted before, for example, lychee and ginger. They produced beverages that they had never thought about making by mixing different types of fruits and vegetables. Not only did the students create juices, but they also sold their products to the high school students and staff.
This project was so successful, that we hope to continue it for years to come. The juicers will be put to good use again next year.
Thank you for helping my students learn in a fun, creative and artistic way!”

Mix It Up With Cooking!
Funded Nov 30, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donations. Due to your generosity our students will have the opportunity to learn through engaging hands on activities. The Culinary Arts Program has been designed to provide our students with a life long skill, cooking, and to enhance their leaning in the content areas of Math, Science, English, and Health. We have already put the bowls and rolling pins to good use. We recently started our baking unit, in which, we were able to bake apple pies. It was a great leaning experience for the students.
Once the bowls and rolling pins arrived to our classroom the students were so excited and eager to get started in the kitchen. They knew that we were going to start baking once the materials you donated for arrived. Thanks to the mixing bowls the students were able to prepare the apple pie filling by mixing together the sliced apples with the necessary condiments. Then, they used the rolling pins to make the crust of the apple pie. To complete the process of baking an apple pie the students had to taste their final product. As a class we came to the conclusion that our pies were perfect!
Thank you for investing in the learning of our future generations.”
