• Feel Good, Learn and Play Better!

  Thank you so much for the items you contributed to the students and student athletes at my school. They have been more than grateful. As soon as the boxes arrived, I got to work unpacking and organizing things in my cabinet. I reached out to the coaches of our sports teams as well as our nurse and guidance counselors to let them know about the grant being funded and the items I now had available to offer students. They were thrilled and so happy that I thought of doing this for the kids! None of this would have been possible without you all! So far the items have already been put to good use! Snacks have been handed out to basketball players who forgot theirs at home, hygiene items have been shared with several as well!”

• Bringing Cooking Home!

  Thank you for your kindness and generosity in supporting my project. As a first year FACS teacher, I am excited to implement new ideas and the students are excited to learn. I have so many ideas for my classroom and this project is just the tip of the iceberg!

  I started with this project to get "blank" recipe books so that my sixth graders could start copying our classroom recipes so that they could continue adding to them each school year. By the end of their middle school years they will have a nice usable keepsake to take with them! The kids are super excited and have enjoyed copying the recipes in them. They ask all the time what we are going to add next!”

• From School to Table!

  We just started our plant unit in our reading series and the kids are so excited! We have explored seeds, plant parts and life cycles!

  I have built our raised bed and we have started some seeds! We have planted radishes, argula, bib lettuce, curly leaf kale, and various other greens. The children have been so excited to get their hands dirty!

  Winter is not the best time for us to teach about plants, but with the raised bed, grow lights and plastic covering, I am able to give the kids a more up close and hands on experience with this unit!”

• Bringing Sensory Play to the Classroom!

  Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity! The students were so excited when they saw everything set up! We have really enjoyed our new sand/water table. Due to the weather, we have kept it inside so far but we plan on moving it out to the patio once it warms up!

  We have integrated this into our centers. We added the sand and our new sand toys to one side of our table. Since our table is currently inside, we have water beads on the wet side and the children are loving it! They could not wait to get their hands in it!

  Once the weather gets warm, I plan on putting the center outside and swapping the water beads out for water and changing out the sand for moon sand. Throughout the year I hope to change the materials out to provide different sensory experiences for the children. I hope to use things like beans, rice, coffee grounds, and other fun things for the kids! We truly appreciate everything you have done for us to provide this experience for the kids!”

• Keeping it Organized!

  Mrs. Poole and I would like to thank you for funding our project! With covid, we have had to individualize all of our materials, manipulatives and other items the kids use daily.

  Having the totes have really helped organize us and give the students the ability to have their own "toolbox" at their seat. We have been able to organize and store our items for centers as well.

  The labels on the totes make these self serve. We have pictures and words on them which allow the students to get what they need for the activities in class. Items stored in totes also make it much easier for us to clean and sanitize as well.”

• Listening is Learning!

  I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for funding my class project! The children were so excited when the boxes arrived. We opened them together and I showed them how to work the CD player and headphones. They now have been using the new listening station daily during centers. They've enjoyed listening to the books on CD and the phonics kit that was purchased. Its nice to see their smiles and hear their giggles when they are listening to their favorite stories on CD. They are developing fluency as they repeat phrases from the books while reading along. This has been a huge blessing for my students.”
