Supplies for Social Distancing
Funded May 28, 2020Thank you so much for your help with social distancing supplies! I am so grateful to have received them before school has started for us. I have already used the Sit Spots to create line reminders to help them remember to give their neighbor some room when we need to leave our classroom. My students are going to love the privacy shields that will enable them to feel safe and still interact with me and with their fellow classmates. This year is going to be very different to say the least and I want to be sure my students feel safe and cared for. Thank you for helping me make this happen.”

Funded Jan 25, 2020Thank you so much for your support of my students and our classroom. We started using the seat sacks immediately and they love them! My students are able to keep track of their own supplies more easily and are definitely more organized! This has given us more time to learn and less time looking for lost books, rulers, or other supplies that got lost in their desk.

Can You Hear Me Now?
Funded Dec 4, 2019Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! My students have loved Time for Kids magazine! We share one together in class every week and then they can take it home to share with their siblings and parents. Many of my students have become more interested in current events due to their exposure to Time for Kids! They come to school and share what they have heard on the news or radio when they are with their parents. I have also noticed that they are choosing more non-fiction books on our weekly trips to the school library.

Funded Sep 19, 2019Thank you so much for your support! We appreciate that you have chosen us to help! My students are enjoying Time for Kids so much! We use these magazines at least once a week to enhance our science, social studies and reading curriculum.
My students are talking about current events in conversation and using their new knowledge in their writing. They are gaining a better sense of the entire world around them and how it effects them and how they can affect the world!

Help Create Confident Mathematicians!
Funded Apr 13, 2019Thank you so much for supporting my class with math journals! They love that they each have their own book to write in! We are able to use them everyday to reinforce and practice many math skills. These include place value, money, word problems, beginning algebra and geometry. This extra practice is a huge supplement to our math curriculum, is really helping to prepare them for the next grade and giving them extra confidence in their own abilities. One of my students said, "I love our journals! I told my nana about them yesterday!" It made my heart so happy!”

Second Graders Need Boogie Boards!
Funded Aug 13, 2019Thank you so much for you support of my class! My students started using the boogie boards the day we received them! We use them to reinforce phonics and spelling words. They use them at small math group time for learning place value and math facts. They also use them during inside recess in creative play. They pretend they are waiters taking orders, teachers taking notes, and doctors writing information.
I cannot tell you how grateful I am! As you know funds are tight and these boards are helping us to learn in fun and creative ways.”

Funded Dec 20, 2018Thank you so much for the support of my classroom! My students were SOOO excited when the boxes were delivered! They could barely wait for me to open them! We have already started to make and use our interactive notebooks and they are loving it!
We are going to continue creating and adding pages to our notebooks. The notebooks are making our learning more interesting and fun. They really look forward to using them and know it will be an activity they are going to enjoy. So far we have used our notebooks for reinforcing math and language skills. We will be adding science and social studies soon.

Funded Jun 4, 2018THANK YOU so much for supporting our classroom! My students love their new pencil boxes! They are using them to carry supplies around our classroom and the school and wherever they need them. We don't have to stop learning to find lost pencils anymore! Everyone has everything with them!
Thank you for the markers and highlighters also! Every student now has their own highlighter to help them during reading and social studies. They are using the skinny markers to work on handwriting. They are so excited to start learning cursive!”

Second Graders Need Language Journals

My students were so excited to open the package and love that they each have their own to use and they don't have to share. We are using them every morning and they are making connections to their reading skills. My students are gaining confidence in their skills and expanding their vocabulary and love showing what know to the teacher they will have next year. We Need Chapter Books!

In second grade, we begin to make the transition from story books to chapter books and your donation will help to make that possible. We are now able to enjoy chapter books as a class with everyone able to participate.
Some of my students are especially enjoying the Cam Jansen books. We have really been able to use those books to expand our vocabulary and add to our knowledge base.
