Help Bring Learning To Life

Funded Nov 24, 2009

No words can truly express the gratitude that I feel for your donation to our 4th grade classroom. Due to your donation, my students receive daily integration of technology in their instruction. This not only engages them, but it maximizes the instructional time. I have been able to use the Elmo in essentially every curricular area and I know that I am only beginning to maximize all of its potential uses. Thus far, I have been able to use it to teach with multimedia math videos, to magnify science slides, to project websites, textbooks, student writings, and other kinds of student work.

Let me give you an example of the doors you have opened. Today, we went on a field trip to a museum. Before we arrived to the museum, I was able to use the internet on the lap top and find samples of artwork they would see and discuss elements of the art. I was then able to project the artwork on the white board. When they arrived to the museum, they became very excited about all the art that they had previously been exposed to. They were even able to see the picture of the museum that they were about to travel to, before they got there.

The list of possibilities and enhancements to their education is endless. Our district as adopted a new math program with a technology component. The only problem is that our school could only afford to purchase one technological component per grade level. That is more than 200 students trying to use one piece of equipment during the same instructional time block. Due to your donation, my students have daily access to math animated instructional videos. The 32 students who I service this year, and many years to come, sincerely thank you for your contributions to their education. ”

With gratitude,

Ms. Maslon
