  • End of the School Year Gifts!

    Funded May 31, 2023

Thank you so much for making my students so unbelievably happy at the end of the school year by providing them with some awesome gifts for their hard work throughout the school year. My scholars were so extremely surprised and grateful for everything they had received. They loved the beach ball and the bubble wand and expressed how excited they were to use them during the summer vacation.

The project not only benefited my students from last year but it also benefited by current students. Due to an issue with the order, the drawstring backpack only arrived during the summer and I wasn't able to give it to students from last school year. However, I was able to give the drawstring backpack filled with few items as a gift to my current students right before the December Holiday Break and they were ecstatic! Thank you so much for your continued support! Wishing a blessed New Year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Oommen

  • Positive Classroom Environment!

    Funded Sep 5, 2022

Thank you so much for helping fund this project to ensure that my students and I get the materials we need to liven up the classroom environment. I was so excited to get the different set of motivational posters that I can put up. The motivational posters has also been a great addition for our Social Emotional Learning/ Morning Meeting time. Before putting the posters up on display I read it to my students and have a discussion around each quote and what it may mean to them.

The bulletin board papers also have added nice color to the classroom and I can't wait to use it again for the next school year. The magnetic number of the day chart has been great to show students the different ways to represent a specific number.

Thank you once again for your support in helping to get all the awesome materials to us!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Oommen

  • New School Year Goodies

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much once again for your generous donation. My scholars and I were very excited to get all the new items to be used in the classroom. We love the digital timer displayed in the front to keep track of time for different activities we do during the day. The display shelves are also awesome to display our current favorite read aloud.

The mini animal plus toy & card was actually used as a winter holiday gift since it arrived after the beginning of school year. My students really loved getting a handwritten note and a toy. I can't wait to continue using the new books next school year and already have it in my "Beginning of School year" bin!

Soon we will be celebrating the 100th Day of school and I can't help but think how donations like this have helped my class throughout the school year. Thank you so much for your continued support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Oommen

  • Outdoor Recess Fun & End of the Year Gifts

    Funded May 13, 2022

I'm so thankful for getting this project funded. Words can't sum up my students excitement when they saw all the stuff that we received to use for recess. As you will be able to see from the pictures, they were so excited and happy to have so many different items to choose from. They were so thankful for your generous donation.

This project continues to put a smile on more students. Not only did it benefit my previous students, but it's also benefitting my current students this school year. I was able to see the same excitement as my previous group when I showed them all the items we had received for outdoor recess. Thank you so much for playing a big part in putting a smile on lots of students faces. We are so grateful for donors like you who continue to give and support classrooms like us! Thank you! Thank you!”

  • Colorful Printer for a Colorful Classroom

    Funded Feb 14, 2022

Thank you so much once again for funding the project to allow us to get a colorful printer for the classroom. It has been a great and useful addition to the class. As part of our ELA curriculum students were learning about fossils. During a lesson I wanted to celebrate the students hard work and proudly post their work in the classroom instead of having them just complete a workbook page and have it inside their desk afterwards. With the new addition, I was able to quickly make copies of the Museum Display Label and have them work in groups and create an awesome display.

There were many other times the printer came to be a saving grace. Recently we had asthma awareness week and were learning about Asthma. I was able to print a picture of an inhaler and have each student decorate their own to be put around our class poem to decorate the classroom door. I can't wait to continue to use the printer to benefit all my students currently and in the future. Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart!”

  • Treasure Box Goodies!

    Funded Dec 28, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to the Treasure Box Goodies project. I wish you could have heard and seen the excitement in my students faces when they saw all the cool things we were getting for our treasure box! They were so eager to write thank you notes for the new addition and show how much they appreciate it.

We also had a good laugh when our replacement item for the treasure box came and it was smaller in size than anticipated. Regardless, my students were thankful for the items and continue to make sure they are focused, following directions and doing their best to earn points throughout the week to win those cool items.

Thank you for helping to put a smile on their faces and continuing to support teachers like myself!”

  • Apple a Day Won't Keep Covid Away- PPE Might Help!

    Funded Aug 15, 2021

Words can't express how grateful my students and I are for your generous donation to help fund this project. The disinfectant spray and gloves have been great to help clean the desk surface. In addition, the sneeze guard desk shield have been so effective. It helps create the barrier needed so student's are able to have discussions with their partners during lessons and still feel safe and comfortable. It's also great that the desk shield is clear because when working in group, students can show their work to their partner by holding it up against the shield and their partner is able to see it clearly. Thank you once again for helping to keep the classroom safe for my students!”

  • Resources Resources!

    Funded Aug 14, 2021

Thank you so much for helping to fund this project and providing me with gift cards to use on the website Teachers Pay Teachers. I'm able to use the gift card to purchase meaningful activities for my students to use during small group, center time and even for homework. The amount of resources that are available on the website are tremendous and I'm so happy that I'm able to purchase them without having to worry so much about the prices. It's also wonderful to be able to find and purchase fun activities related to holidays. My students are truly enjoying the activity packets. Thank you, thank you!”

  • End of Year Surprise Gift for Kids

    Funded May 18, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity. After learning at home for more than a year, my kids were so excited to find out that they would get a chance to come to school to see me in person and also get an end of the year gift, thanks to donors like you. I was so excited to have been able to setup days where parents were able to come with their child to the school to pick up the bag with the goodies.

Words can't express the gratitude for you for making this come true. As you can see from the pictures posted, they were so ecstatic. Few students who were able to pick up the gifts were so excited to show me their artistic creations through zoom after our meeting.

I can't wait to continue seeing their smiley faces as I continue to hand over the gifts to those students who weren't able to make it at the end of the school year. Thank you! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Oommen

  • Latest Technology = Creative/ Engaging Lessons

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting me to get a new Ipad and apple pencil for my classroom. The Ipad and apple pencil helps me to plan lessons in a very interactive and interesting manner. The latest technology also allows me to download different applications/programs which enhance the way I present the lessons.

"Goodnotes" is an app that I was able to download on the Ipad and use in many different ways. I can use it to model work for students and keep track of their progress. Many of my students are English Language learners and benefit from the sentence starters or sample writing that they can refer to. I'm able to use the apple pencil to show students how they can setup their notebooks and write the sentences.

Creating Interactive slides with Bitmojis also helps me to attract student's interest in a fun way during classroom sessions. With the new IPad, I'm also able to mirror screen to the computer for live stream and get kids more engaged. These are some ways my classroom has benefited from getting this project funded. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank each one of you for helping me support my kids who will be the shining stars of tomorrow.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Oommen

Currently, I'm the second grade ENL teacher. My class consists of English Language Learners and Native English Speakers. I have newcomers at the beginning level with no or limited English proficiency. However, I feel that my students are very enthusiastic about learning. Most of my students are only exposed to English when they are in school. Due to the parents' limited English proficiency, students have to communicate with their parents in their native language. A lot of my students have already overcome many obstacles to be where they are currently. I want them to understand the vital role of education in personal and professional life. I also want my students to feel confident when communicating with others socially.
