• Stay Calm and Kindergarten On!

  Thank you so much for your generosity and willingness to support my kindergarten students! With your generous donation, I will be able to create calm down kits for our classroom. These materials will allow students to access tools/resources to better regulate their emotions and be ready to learn! We can share the literature together to better prepare ourselves for any challenges we may encounter and be able to better regulate our emotions. • Stay Calm and Kindergarten On!

  With your generosity, I have been able to create calm down kits for my classroom! I have had the opportunity to teach the kindergartners how to use the calm down tools properly, when it would be the appropriate time that they would need them, and how they might feel afterwards. It has been amazing to see children that are struggling with self-regulation, go to the calm down area and pick a tool that they see as being beneficial. I have observed the children using belly breaths while they open and close the breathing ball, squeezing the thera-putty as their emotions begin to settle, and examine the sensory bottle dripping the calming colors as their body begins to relax. After utilizing these sensory tools, the children have been in a more regulated space that allows us to problem-solve the crisis that they are encountering in a more positive manner. The children have experienced great success thus far and I can't wait to continue to utilize these tools and expose them to the literature you donated to help front load these crucial self-regulation and coping skills. Thank you so very much!”

• Remarkable Readers!

  Thank you so much for your generosity! With your donation, I was able to purchase multiple sets of Guided Reading books, File Folder Games, and Alphabet Stamps.

  The Guided Reading books are being utilized as I teach the students about "Just Right" books which means that they are at their appropriate reading level. Now that I have multiple copies, the children are able to store them in their independent books boxes which allows them to re-read them and enhance their fluency skills on a daily basis. The File Folder Games are being utilized as intervention activities and games. The children love to play them and it provides them with the necessary one-on-one intervention that they need in order to master the kindergarten skills. The children have loved trying out the alphabet stamps as they learn to read and write words!
