Interactive Center Activities
Funded Apr 7, 2025We are deeply grateful for your incredible generosity! Your thoughtful donation will directly impact the learning experience of my students by allowing us to acquire valuable table games focused on language and math development. These resources will transform our classroom into an even more engaging and effective learning environment, fostering deeper understanding and a love for these subjects.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support!”

Funded Aug 13, 2019The classroom printer, made possible by your generous donations, has arrived! Check out the photos of our first few projects because of it!
* The fourth graders published stories based on Maya Salarrue's art work (which we printed and painted);
* The fifth graders, after reading Pablo Neruda's "Ode to Socks", wrote and published their own poems, then exhibited these for the Hispanic Heritage Month;
Then, last Halloween, students in Room 21 reinvented themselves to become halloween creatures- silly skeletons, wacky witches and other monster munchkins!
Creating characters, writing stories and composing poems have never been as fun!! The time for creativity has only begun! Thank you very much!”

Funded Apr 27, 2018Students who typically needed extra days to finish class work (or complete a cycle of play) because they are not able to sustain attention are able to experience success with your donated vests and lap pads. I have a "reward store" in my classroom that allows them to purchase using tickets they earn from finishing tasks. My challenged students' work products (and therefore tickets) soared in numbers. Seeing the excitement in their faces is priceless.
I have collaborated with our school Occupational Therapy and he says that the weighted vests and lap pads truly calm the kids down, even with only 10-15 minutes of wearing these. This means, we can share what we currently have with many more children who need them!
Thank you very much!”

Noise Blockers for Testing
Funded Mar 26, 2017My students were in awe when they saw the "wireless headphones." Being the inquisitive children that they are, they immediately asked how it can send sounds without a source, so when I asked them to try these out, they were surprised that sound actually diminished by much. One said, "Hey, this does the opposite. I cannot hear you!"
With your help, my classroom was able to acquire the noise blockers. These were shared with many more classrooms (both Special and General Education classrooms) where students needed more assistance with focusing. It arrived a month before our school's scheduled testing dates and we were able to review and practice their reading, writing and math skills with the noise blockers, and with less distractions. With the blockers, prompts to refocus have decreased from 5 to 2 times within a 15-20 minute independent activity, and their scores in their independent work have increased from 65 to 80%.
With this, I am optimistic that the students will continue honing their academic and concentration skills.”

Multi-Media Projector
Funded Feb 9, 2017Thank you again, my dear donor. Because the multi-media projector originally posted was unavailable, I had to replace the order with another type of projector of a different, but just as efficient, kind; and less costly! As a result, your donation was able to purchase two more essential materials: phoneme phones/ read to self phones and a magnetic pocket chart for our word list.
With the multi-media projector, the students' interests are peaked and retention is greater: my third graders were able to copy notes more accurately, my first graders, all excited over the animation that I am able to add to my visuals.
The "Read to Self" Phones allow the students to listen to themselves read and articulate the words. It enables my students with auditory processing challenges to more clearly discriminate between similar letter sounds and words like m & n, a & o. The magnetic pocket chart allows a more organized presentation of flash cards to continuous exposure to sight words to further assist with mastery.
These gifts will definitely impact their learning!
All the best to you.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Dario
