  • Project Protect!

    Funded May 13, 2022

What a happy end of the year my students had, and it is all thanks to you! Each of my students received their own personal iPad equipped with a colorful case. The students had so much fun choosing their color case. The cases allowed for the students to enjoy the new iPads, and I am happy to report that the cases were effective in keeping each iPad safe! We are so lucky to have donors like you; those colorful cases are a wonderful reminder of your generosity. Thank you again for funding our project, and please know you were a contributor to my students' happiness and educational growth!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Spencer

  • Sounds Like a Good Idea!

    Funded Jan 22, 2022

I cannot thank you enough for your kind donations that funded this project. The wireless headphones are up and running, and have made a BIG difference in our daily routine. Since receiving the new headphones, we have had ZERO broken headphones. As a result, our daily routines and activities have not been impacted by a lack of headphones.

These headphones have helped maintain a routine in my classroom, which, in turn, increases productivity, and decreases off-task behaviors. Wireless headphones may sound like something small and simple, but they have been a game changer in my classroom! Thank you again for your thoughtfulness!”

  • Project Print!

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

Thank you so much for the wonderful printer. Not only does it print in color, it came with color ink that can last up to a year! Ink is a major expense, and thanks to your donations, we don't have to worry about that for awhile. My students have been enjoying a very colorful curriculum. I will share some pictures of some of the activities. We are so lucky to be the recipients of your donations! This time of year is a wonderful reminder to reflect on all of the kindness in our lives, and we are so very thankful to the Donor's Choose community for their continued benevolence. Thanks again and Happy Thanksgiving!”

    With gratitude,

  • Mission Task Boxes

    Funded Aug 9, 2021

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations! Unfortunately the bookshelf I picked out was discontinued, however, it allowed me to get much more! Lakeshore had a similar bookshelf as the one I picked out, but in a smaller size. Because it was a lower price, I was able to secure the bookshelf AND several activities to fill my new bins! It was quite the silver lining to the initial disappointing news. I will share some pictures of all our new things. My students and I have been so lucky to be the recipients of your generosity, and we do not take for granted your kindness. We are very particular about how we care for all of the materials; we keep them clean, neat, and in the proper places so we can enjoy them for years to come. Thank you so much again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Spencer

  • Learning With Lakeshore!

    Funded May 4, 2021

Thank you so much for these amazing new activities! My students absolutely love them; they have kept them so busy these past few weeks. I shared some photos so you can see how much fun the kids have been having! My students have learned a lot of new skills because of your donations. They continue to work towards meeting all of their academic goals with the help of the new activities. You have brought a bright light to our classroom; a bright light that is helping the kids through the last few weeks of school :) Thanks again for your kindness!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Spencer

  • Turn Up the Volume!

    Funded Apr 21, 2021

Thank you so much for funding our project! The students were so excited to receive their new folders. We have only had them a day, but I can already see how well they keep the students organized! We were running VERY low on color ink, so the replenishment came just in time, and it is so appreciated! Finally, the speakers have probably brought the most joy to the students. They can hear everything so much better when it is being presented on the computer (videos, music, different lessons, etc.). Most importantly, they are able to hear the students who have remained remote. It has been so nice to witness their conversations with one another these past few days. Thank you so much again for your kindness!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Spencer

  • Functional Fun and Spectacular Sensory!

    Funded Apr 16, 2021

We have only had our new materials for a few days, and the students cannot wait to get their hands on the different activities! It is so fun to see the pure enjoyment on their faces as they explore their new learning toys. I shared a few pictures so that you can see the materials being put to good use! We are so very grateful for your contributions; it was wonderful to have the opportunity to surprise my students with these gifts. With all of the new restrictions in place due to COVID, it has been difficult for some of my students to adjust to the new routine. Your donations have brought a light into the classroom that is very needed. Thank you so much again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Spencer

  • Refining Remote Learning

    Funded Jan 19, 2021

I cannot thank you enough for your generous contributions to my project. With the gift cards, I was able to purchase a leveled social studies curriculum AND a math/reading bundle for online learning. The social studies curriculum comes in three levels, and a level for students that are on a non-writing level, allowing for students of all levels access. The curriculum also provides an online option for students who are continuing to learn remotely. The math/reading bundle is an online curriculum enhancer, where students are able to interactively practice previously taught skills on tablets, computers, or iPads. My students love these activities, and are very excited for brand new educational games! I truly appreciate your donations; you have made my students and myself very happy in such an uncertain time for education! Thanks again!”

  • Operation Earphones

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity. We are so grateful for your donations and cannot wait to use the earphones and printer ink. Unfortunately, our school is remote learning, so we have not had access to the building or our new supplies. With that being said, I KNOW they will be very used and very loved once we are back!

My students each receive an individualized curriculum, and much of it requires color printing. The ink will facilitate this and ensure the students receive the brightly colored activities they need! Because the students have different curriculum, they are often engaging in different activities simultaneously. This makes the earphones essential. When students are on iPads, other students are working. The earphones allow for the students to engage in activities on their iPad fully, without distracting those around them.

We go through A LOT of earphones each school year. They are fragile and sometimes cannot withstand the constant handling. We had a depleted inventory of earphones, so the replenishment was sorely needed and greatly appreciated! Thank you again!”

  • Revamp our Reading Corner!

    Funded Oct 10, 2019

My students have absolutely LOVED the couch. When they are not in their desks doing their work, they are opting to lounge on the couch. They do everything on there: read books, play on the iPad, do puzzles, or hangout with one another. The couch has been a wonderful addition to our room that we would not have had it not been for your generosity. We are so very lucky to have been the recipients of your donations. I wish I could have captured the joy on my students' faces when the couch arrived; and the smiles have not left since. Thank you again so very much!”

This classroom project was brought to life by District Partnership Program and 5 other donors.
Many of my students have autism. With this, many of the individuals are unable to self-regulate. They become over-stimulated or under-stimulated and need assistance to regulate. When this happens, students display behaviors that include: aggression, self-harm, and yelling. These not only disrupt the individual's learning, but the learning of their peers. Items like the 'Cozy Canoe,' the trampoline, and the bean bag chair will help calm students and decrease agitation. In addition to decreasing behaviors, the sensory experiences will appeal to all senses, ensuring all learning styles are addressed. The class has a sensory part of the day where the students are able to explore these different senses. The sensory table can be filled with many different textures such as water beads, sand, and rice. The touch, sight, sound, and kinesthetic components are a big motivation to students. The moon sand helps the students to develop their fine motor skills through an enjoyable experience. With your help, the classroom can become an engaging and accommodating environment necessary for functional and academic development.
