Let's Write and Play!
Funded Feb 4, 2025Thank you so much for funding my project! The materials we are receiving will provide an extra engaging learning environment for my students. These materials will also assist with reaching a diverse group of multimodal learners. They will be able to color code and sketchnote as well as enhance skills through games connected to our curricula. We are looking forward to our delivery!!!”

Funded Oct 17, 2023It is with so much gratitude that I write this letter. Your generosity is appreciated beyond measure. With the new bean table and stools funded through my Safe Spaces project, I have been able to provide a comfortable, safe learning space for so many students. My co-teachers and I have been able to share the table to administer individual assessments, facilitate learning activities and foster positive relationships with our students.
The bean table does not just represent a desk to sit and complete work. It is a place where students are excited to sit because of the intimate setting it provides. Students love to be chosen for small groups and "coffee talks". They love to eat their snack with a teacher and chit chat about random topics. They love to get away from their larger table groups when they are having a hard time focusing. It was exactly what we needed for our classroom!
Thank you again for this amazing donation!”

Funded Jan 4, 2023Thank you so much once again for these awesome iPads. We have been able to utilize them to plan and teach lessons, give rewards to students, and to communicate with families through various apps. We use them in our daily group work activities where students are collaborating on topics for projects. Additionally we are able to monitor and manage classroom behavior on our Class Dojo app. Since it's the newest version of iPad, our students especially love when they win a turn at using them for free time of course!
Class 4-305 is super appreciative!”

Fantastic, Fidgety Fun
Funded Jan 29, 2017Class 4-305 is so grateful for the items that we received because of your generosity! Since we have had the bouncy bands attached to student chairs, we have seen a significant increase in their attention spans. They make sitting in their hard chairs much more bearable and comfortable throughout the day. We are also enjoying the fidget toys we received. The fidget toys give the children who can't stop moving, something to move quietly and has helped alleviate the pencil tapping that can be extremely distracting to others.
Fortunately, we were able to exchange some of the bouncy bands for other items that will help our students enjoy their usually mundane recess. Some of the students did not like the bouncy bands on their chairs so I asked to exchange them. Our school does not have a playground nor does it provide anything for the students to play with at recess. They basically just run around a public basketball court for 30 minutes. I was able to order jump ropes, balls, sensory toys, cones, and physical education command dice that they can now use during their recess. This is extremely helpful in the NYC public school system where resources are slim.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME PROVIDE RESOURCES TO MY STUDENTS!”

Everyone, Have A Seat!
Funded Oct 26, 2016Thank you so much for funding my project, Everyone, Have a Seat! My co-teacher and I are so happy to be able to provide fun seating choices for our students. Unfortunately, some of the items we ordered were not suitable for the height of our 4th grade desks so we are anxiously awaiting replacement items. While we wait, we are making great use of the beanbag chair and director's chair!
Our students were so excited when the packages arrived! They are all anxiously waiting for their turn to use one of the special seats. So far, we have been selecting students during our English Language Arts periods and D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read) time, to take turns using them. They also came in very handy on Pajama Day when we watched Polar Express. When the replacement items arrive, we will be able to accommodate more students with an additional beanbag and director's chair to share.
Once again, this project could not have happened without your help. We ALL thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

Rewards and Privacy
Funded Oct 26, 2016My 4th graders, my co-teacher and I could not be more grateful for your generous donations. Because of you, our class is able to take assessments with the confidence that their peers cannot peek over to see their answers. The privacy boards are an essential tool for 4th graders as they are assessed frequently and rigorously. Since we are an Integrated Co-Teaching classroom, the privacy boards also help with minimizing distractions during testing procedures. The first time we used them, our students were excited and could not stop smiling. They are so appreciative to have received these handy tools. They are so happy that they no longer have to use their overflowing folders that fall down constantly when using them as borders between themselves and their neighbors.
This month (November 2016), was the first time we were able to give out the pencils you donated to our class as part of our Classroom Dojo rewards. Our students were so excited that the cool designs were vibrant and colorful. The Classroom Dojo inspires our students to work towards their goals to get the best rewards. We are so thankful that we are able to keep our promise because of your generous donation of almost 300 pencils! They will go quickly!
Our students were so excited about the items we received for this project that they are anxiously awaiting one more project approval. Most of our students face hardships that we could not even fathom at 9 or 10 years old. It is little things like this that make them feel special and loved. So from the bottom of my heart, truly, thank you so so much!”
