  • Getting Comfy on the Carpet

    Funded Nov 16, 2023

Perfect timing! The carpet will be here before we know it. When my students heard that they were getting a classroom carpet, they cheered with joy. They were glad since they could now sit on a warm spot instead of the hard, cold floor.

Our morning business, story times and developmental play time will have a specific place to meet and that will be on the carpet. Kindergarteners need a carpet in their classrooms because they need to sit close to the teacher so learning can take place.

Thank you for giving us a wonderful Christmas present that will be used year after year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tokishi

  • Ideas Worth Printing

    Funded Dec 19, 2022

When I first saw that my project, Ideas Worth Printing was funded, I had to triple check that I was reading it correctly. After I realized that it wasn't a mistake, I shared the fantastic news with my students. Some of them didn't know what a printer was. I pulled up an image and printed it. One of my students said, "there is paper coming out from the other side". When they saw the printed image, their oohs and aahs were priceless.

I told them that we were going to be making books about their favorite athlete. Lebron James came in as a favorite. We printed out his image and some of the kids chose to write about him. They inserted his photo in their books and we saved this special project for Open House. Everyone had smiles on their faces.

My students can't wait to see this printer make more prints of their other favorites. Thank you for making memories.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tokishi

  • All Children Matter

    Funded Sep 10, 2020

My Kinders in Room 36 and I would like to thank you for your generous donations that allowed us to have the supplies needed during our distance learning.

Without your donations many of my students wouldn't have had the supply bag that contained all the basic supplies needed for their assignments. The scissors and crayons are used often for their monthly crafts .The white board and dry erase marker has been an important tool which is used daily. Life with the document camera has made teaching on line an easier task.

My students are a happy bunch and they are always eager to learn more. They always put in 100% and it shows in their work. It is my goal and obligation to create new and fun activities to keep them engaged so they will remember what 2020-2021 was like in Kindergarten.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tokishi

  • Chromebooks, Chromebooks, What Do You See?

    Funded Oct 16, 2019

Thank you for our Chromebooks. We enjoy using our Chromebooks throughout the day. The students have fun accessing educational programs such as Starfall and Kids A-Z during their Reading time to practice their reading skills. By listening to rhymes, songs, and reading books at their own independent level, the students feel very independent and responsible for their own learning.

During Math, the kids can access cool math games and Funbrain where they can practice number recognition. They can use the educational programs to help strengthen their math skills and number sense.

Thank you again for your generous donation. The students enjoy having technology accessible to them in the classroom and look forward to using their Chromebooks throughout the year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tokishi

My students need the play foam, Playdoh and the building materials for their stem projects and for developmental play. I believe that I have some future engineers in my class. The CD player is for our singing, dancing and reading. I do have reliable boom box so we can't hear books that are read from a cd and we hardly sing and dance. The printer will be used for the many materials that I buy from Teachers Pay Teachers. I buy all my lessons from TPT and my printer which was one year old broke last month. These items will be of great use in my classroom and it will definitely put a smile on my student's faces. Your generous donation to our Kindergarten class will e greatly appreciated
