The students in my class always LOVE to read. If they don't love it when they come into first grade, they certainly do when they leave first grade! Reading in my classroom is a time when students feel independent, can clearly monitor their own growth, and work together to support each other in reading strategies. Students will use the donated book bags to organize their independent reading books. This way, students will be able to keep track of their reading successes and prepare for what they need to learn next. Students will use their reading boxes to store their buddy reading books that are used during partner time. By reading in collaboration with each other, students build their own skills while also supporting their peers' reading strategies. Through your donation to our project, students will have the organization that they need in order to become life-long readers!
