Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to read this proposal, and for donating to my students. The majority of my students lack fundamental literacy skills. In a classroom of incoming sixth graders, the majority of my students read at a level that is equivalent to that of the average third or fourth grader. My students deserve to achieve their dreams, and to do that, they need to be able to read on grade level. Among other things an essential component of literacy comes from engagement, from willingness to practice. Currently, my students have almost no books to practice with. My hope, is that through your generous assistance, my students will receive books that will give them exposure to the outside world and a drive to continue an enduring love for literacy.
