Funded Oct 3, 2024Thank you for your support of our school. These books fill in much needed gaps in our collection and provide some high interest topics for our students! We added these titles to our new books display and our students flocked to see the new science materials that were available. Not only will this provide high interest reading to our students but these books will also support our curriculum and provide another resource for our teachers.
Your support has allowed our students to enjoy new materials and explore science topics that might help them in a future career. Thank you again for your help and support.”

Funded Nov 13, 2024Another project funded by our amazing donors. Your support of our library has allowed us to have an entire class set of 3D pens and materials which will allow these pens to be used in classrooms throughout our school as well as in the library. We recently hosted a 3D printing lunch craft where students were able to use the 3D pens to print a gift for someone for the holidays. We had students making ornaments, hearts, snowflakes, and even a tiny pizza! Our students' creativity has blossomed with this addition to our collection and our teachers are starting to find ways to incorporate them into their lessons.
Thank you again for your support, we can't do what we do without your help!”

Funded Sep 13, 2024Your donation has been put to good use as our students have enjoyed reading the new books about crafting. The drawing books have garnered the most interest as our budding Picassos learn about how to draw hands, faces, and the human figure. As our students move into the holiday season, we've had more craft books circulating so your support helps our students learn new skills and create something fun for someone they love.
The materials have all been enjoyed by our students using the Makerspace in the library; the friendship bracelets are always a crowd favorite and the Perler beads will be used in an upcoming lunch and learn activity!
Thank you again for your support. We could not do what we do without you and our students are so excited to see what they can build and create with the materials you provided.”

Girls With Gears Keep Growing!
Funded Nov 8, 2023Our Girls with Gears STEM club continues to grow and because of your generous donations, we were able to work with more students this year and provide them with materials to create robots and build bridges! We challenged them to design a bridge to cross different spans and they were able to use Magnatiles from this grant to achieve their design goals!
This donation will continue to positively impact our students as everyone is allowed to build and design with these kits so your donation will reach over 1000 students. Thank you again for your support of STEM and our Girls with Gears club.”

This classroom project was brought to life by General Motors & Young Sheldon on CBS and 5 other donors.Seeing the World in 3 Dimensions!
Funded Nov 8, 2023Your support helped us create new designs with our 3D printing pens and enabled our Girls with Gears STEAM group to create their own business card holders. We had so much fun working with the new 3D printing pens and using the design process to create our unique designs. The girls had fun troubleshooting the issues they encountered and designing all of the components they needed.
This donation allowed our group to work together on designs and develop their skills with the 3D printers. We practiced creating shapes, drawing and measuring to ensure their designs met their needs, and everyone had a lot of fun!”

Funded Aug 2, 2023Because of your generous donations, we were able to purchase new chess boards, time clocks, chess tournament score sheets, and two books on chess strategy. Our students came out in droves for the first Chess Tournament and they loved competing against one another to see who would be the champion. The students enjoyed it so much that they are forming their own weekly chess club to work on their skills and they will use the new boards to teach other students how to play! We plan to host another tournament in the spring to see how our students' skills have developed. Because of your support, this school has experienced a renewed interest in chess and many students who never stepped foot in the library before are now becoming regular visitors.”

Funded Feb 24, 2023Thank you for supporting our Girls with Gears STEM club! Our students have had a wonderful time using the 3Doodler pens to learn more about 3D printing, design thinking, and translating a 2D design into a 3D creation. The girls also really enjoyed creating the bristlebots where they learned about the basics of robotics design and had an opportunity to express their creativity. These tools gave us the chance to expand our discussion on different STEM topics and expose these students to new ideas.
The bristlebots were a fun final project for our STEM club but the 3D pens were definitely the favorite activity for the girls in our club. We used these pens in multiple meetings; allowing students to learn and develop their skills. They used the 3Doodler pens to create basic shapes but quickly progressed to building 3D geometric shapes, decorative items, and a 3D standee of their name! Each time we brought out the 3D pens, the girls faces lit up with excitement and they chattered with each other about what designs they wanted to create next.
So many students expressed an interest in joining us for the club next year and many of the girls shared how this club helped them build confidence in their skills. We would not have been able to do these activities without your support so thank you again for believing in the future and our female students!”

Flexible Seating in the Library!
Funded Nov 23, 2022Our new chairs arrived before Christmas and they've been an instant hit with our students and teachers. There is always a rush to claim these special chairs and students who use them comment on how comfortable they are. Our teachers recently held a leadership team meeting in the library and everyone was commenting on how they modernized the space and brought some much needed color; our SPED lead teacher also shared how she plans to order some for her students to provide them with a gentle rocking motion while they work in class.
We will continue our efforts to modernize our library space and transform it into the Learning Commons of our dreams. Our next steps are to continue to update our seating choices and incorporate student-led changes to the physical space. We recognize the importance of choice for our students and we believe that allowing them the simple choice of a seat can have a major impact on their willingness to learn.
Thank you again for your support and continued support of our projects. We couldn't do what we do without you.”

Mrs. Webb
